Power flushing by Gas Safe registered engineers

When air gets into a central heating system it corrode internally producing black iron oxide sludge deposits in radiators and other iron components. These particles stick to all surfaces, causing premature failure of pumps and valves, cold unbalanced radiators, blocked boiler heat exchangers and hot water heating coils. Overall system efficiency is greatly reduced and this results in poor system performance.

Do I need a power flush?

power flushing can remove sludge
  • Is the system slow to warm up?
  • Are some radiators cold at the bottom?
  • Do radiators need frequent bleeding?
  • Is the radiator water dirty or discoloured?
  • Radiators with pin hole perforations and leakage?
  • Is your boiler making unusual noises ?
  • Do you have repeated pump failures?
  • Are your bills higher than usual?
  • Are you experiencing system blockages?

Any of these symptoms could indicate that a powerflush is required, if you are experiencing any of these problems it indicates that there are possible circulation or flow problems. This is due to internal corrosion which generates rust, deposits and scale deposits. A power flush will chemically clean your system removing these undesirable products and also safe guard your system for future use.
