It features advanced electrochemical sensing technology (also manufactured by Honeywell Analytics). It is officially approved and kite marked to the latest European standard for domestic CO alarms (EN50291) and is also the only unit on the market to be officially approved by CORGI. Unlike other alarms you do not have to replace the batteries as batteries are sealed inside to avoid tampering or easy removal and also you can not accidently turn the unit off.
